| For some time I've been watching the unwitting collaboration between graffiti artists and those who cover it up, often ineptly. This led me to play with collaborating with myself on canvas in both roles, creator and destroyer. Making graffiti is akin to drawing and doodling and suggests language, thoughts. The painting over is more about color and form.

This activity is not all that different than earlier one's, painting with many layers, it's just a new frame of mind, and playful entrance into the process.

I've also been focused on water again, looking at depictions of water in Japanese woodblock prints, Indian Miniatures, and a Russian Icon. I'm intrigued with the idea that the three ingredients that compose life are sunlight, water, and bacteria, which become light, movement, and shape in my visual world.
